Couples
I specialise in working with couples where one partner has received 'the knock' from the police, and the collateral damage that occurs to the non-offending partner and their children. Some couples struggle with the enormity of what has happened to them, and are traumatised by the event itself, let alone its implications in a ripple-effect. I will aim to help each of you understand the part you may be playing in creating or maintaining any problems in your relationship. As a consequence, I will expect to have at least one confidential session, sometimes more, with each one of you separately before working with you together, although please note that is not my policy to keep secrets for one partner. I will then provide you both with a formulation of the dynamic I have seen in your relationship, which will allow you both to decide whether you wish to have future therapy with me or finish there. I may recommend either or both of the partners to have individual therapy with a different therapist, if, in my view, their personal traumatic history needs special attention.
My fee for couples is £105 for each 50-minute session.
