Pre-Trial Therapy
If you are a victim or a witness of a criminal act, like a physical or sexual assault, domestic violence, or stalking, and you have been traumatised by that event, you can be assessed to determine whether you are considered a vulnerable adult and in need of therapy before, during, and after the court proceedings. This specialist form of individual therapy undertaken in conjunction with the Crown Prosecution Service protects the prosecution case from being contaminated by the therapy and allows you to have the support needed to deal with the impact of the event and the process of court proceedings.
The fee for this individual therapy is £95 for each 50-minute session..
If you are subject to criminal proceedings, either being charged and bailed for a sexual criminal offence, awaiting trial, or have been convicted of a sexual offence, then I will support you through the proceedings, and would be willing to write a report for the court providing:
- You are completely honest about your behaviour, even though you may be embarrassed or ashamed. You will not be judged.
- You are wanting to make changes in your life and behaviour, not just wanting mitigation for the court for your past misdemeanours on the recommendation of your solicitor.
- That I am convinced that you are not posing a threat to a child or a vulnerable adult.
- I have received a complete and unredacted court bundle
Court assessments will involve your completion of numerous questionnaires. My fee for reports to court is £115 per hour, so the cost of a court assessment will be between £500-£1000 depending on the amount of work involved in its production and maybe more if it involves considerable legal correspondence.
If we have had a therapeutic relationship, then I am forbidden by law to conduct a risk assessment with you.
